Ken Koibuchi joined Toyota Motor Corporation in 1993. As a vehicle engineer, he has been engaged in the development of vehicle dynamics functions, vehicle dynamics simulation, then development of chassis control such as brakes and steering control. He has gained deep expertise in the development of a wide range of vehicle control systems, including power-train integration control such as engine and transmission, and fuel-efficient control systems such as Stop & Start system and battery charging control. Since 2014, he has been responsible for the development of automated driving and advanced safety technologies, before taking post of TRI-AD's CTO in July 2018.
Koibuchi graduated from Waseda University, and received a Master's degree at the University of Tokyo, and is specialized in the fields of vehicle dynamics, vehicle control, and mechanical engineering.
